Trust no-one and nothing unless you've seen it with your own eyes - honestly - I've seen "experienced" users do the strangest things... The only cell that I am having problems with is: Example: I need to figure the formula for cost 20%. =sum(d3 20%) I know the formula I just showed is incorrect but its an idea of what I need.
This sounds as though Calculation had been set to Manual rather than Automatic. Or change the setting via Tools Does anyone know if there is a way to make an excel spreadsheet template that when I open a new xls based on that template will generate a number and then remember that number so that the next time I open a new xls based on the template it will generate the next number in sequence ??
I thought it might be related to loss of network connection, but both said they were able to save the spreadsheets back out to the network.
In this tip, you will learn how to disable formula replication in Excel tables. When this option is set to automatic, Excel recalculates the spreadsheet’s formulas whenever you change a cell value. This means that, if you have a formula that totals up your sales and you change one of the sales, Excel updates the total to show the correct sum. That setting affects all the other workbooks the you open during that session. In this case, the workbook calculation was set to Automatic on all the machines – that’s the first thing we checked.
